Line Art

The line drawings are habitually on a small scale and drawn quickly. They are gesture drawings that I make as a prelude to charcoal drawings that are drawn on a larger scale.

The Printmaking is on a larger scale. Normally based upon original line drawings from life room studies. The Printed Line Art is not 'slick' commercial line art. It is about the quality and value of line in itself. The line characteristics are descriptive. The lines are not regular. It is not a graphic image. It is a descriptive drawing.
